About this piece:
In this piece, I explore the tension between comfort and longing—the pull to remain where things feel familiar, and the simultaneous desire for something more meaningful, expansive, and true.
The ropes represent the forces that quietly hold us in place: fear, expectation, pain, and the stories we are told about our own limitations. They offer a sense of security even as they restrict movement. This work exists in the space just before release, when awareness sharpens and the possibility of transformation becomes undeniable.
In the distance, white mountains rise as symbols of hope. They are not yet reached, but they are visible—steady, luminous, and guiding. For me, this painting is about recognizing that love, joy, and healing often require risk and courage to take the first step toward a life shaped not by fear, but by intention and hope.
