About this piece:
Emma Wood was created from a photography I took one evening at Emma Wood Beach, a moment when light, tide, and time felt suspended between what is and what is becoming. The sea moves with resistance from the rocks on the beach, embodying transformation as a quiet pursuit rather than certainty.
I painted this with a sense of hope and openness. It reflects a longing to embrace life’s natural flow from a place of calm rather than urgency. The tide’s gentle pull toward the sun becomes a visual metaphor for opportunity and renewal, reminding us that transformation does not always arrive through force, but through presence, allowing, and light.
