This piece explores restraint as a lived, conscious state—acknowledging limitation without surrendering agency. The horse does not resist the tether; it endures it, holding eye contact with quiet resolve.

The act of being tied becomes less about confinement and more about time. Waiting speaks to the space between desire and action, where strength is measured not by movement, but by presence. It reflects the courage required to remain open and self-possessed while circumstances delay release.

The horse’s direct gaze invites the viewer into a moment of choice—to wait alongside him, or to imagine his release. This shared pause reinforces restraint not as imposed, but as a conscious state, held with awareness and intent.
