Collection: Flow + Resistance

Flow and Resistance is a collection of textured mixed media pieces that show how community comes together, flows apart and is separated by opposing ideas. Each layer is memory, each brush stroke a feeling of freedom, forgiveness and frustration. The darkness is brought in as a dividing force of pain, whether as burnt land or road cutting through the natural landscape. The gold leaf highways connect the community and are a nod the Golden State Highway in California.
