Group Show: Dama Gallery Ventura, CA

Group Show: Dama Gallery Ventura, CA

So excited for this group show! One of my goals for 2026 was to get my art into this amazing gallery. I applied in 2025 and waited months, but it finally happened! 4 of my pieces were accepted, although one had to be pulled for another show where it won an award (more on that soon!). This show features 3 pieces all about community, connection and people.

I'm a little obsessed with this piece. It's a map of where the edges of California wild land meet suddenly with a satellite farm. The idea of man taking over nature, even when trying to harness natural resources, bothers me. The lines cut through the natural flow of the land paralleling the harsh reality of life. (California Land - Above)

Here are two inspirational drone shots of the actual land. (Below)

This piece was inspired by the city of Caleb, CA. It's a map of community, small, yet vibrant. From city to mountain to sea, each piece of the community comes together to find it's own strength and character. This idea came to me as we drove through the city, wanting to take a photo of our son Caleb in front of the city sign which we did not find, so I painted it instead. I absolutely love that it looks like an abstract of Ventura, CA where I live. (City By The Sea - Below)

This piece shows the burnt foothills of California after a wildfire rushed through. There is wildness, sadness and the idea of renewal shining through the gold leaf. (Foothills - Below)

Here's the inspo for the piece above:
